Unemployment is one of the key indicators of the state of an economy. Teboho Mafodi looks at the unemployment rate in South Africa of 25%, as shared by Stats SA for the second quarter of 2015 and what this says about the state of our economy. It is increasingly worrying that the unemployment rate amongst the Youth is put at + – 42%. The discussion looks at what can be done by both the public and private sector to stimulate growth in the economy that will lead to the creation of sustainable jobs in all industries.
