Lobola in this day and age… does it have a place? From a feminist perspective Lobola should be out of place in our society as it gives a particular gender preferential treatment. Can we as a society plainly accept it because “it’s tradition”, or have traditions been wrong a million times before? This also brings up a more important question of how we can merge customary traditions in this new world. Is it possible or should we let it go? Moreover, what makes some women more valuable than others?
