Roman and Jonathan host well-known political commentator and author Moeletsi Mbeki. The discussion is focused around Mr Mbeki’s new book, A Manifesto For Social Change. The book uses official statistics to destroy the notion of racial segregation in the country, while proposing the existence of a class system based on economics rather than skin colour. They discuss the relationship between political parties and their voters, the awakening of the lower and underclasses to corruption and cronyism, and the ANC’s sense of entitlement. Moeletsi provides an interesting take on the language of South Africa versus the reality, with regards to the myth of white capital and holds nothing back in taking on the obvious failings of black economic empowerment, which may lead to a revolution of the poor.
