Pumla Dineo Gqola is an associate professor of literary, media and gender studies at the School of Literature and Language Studies, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg. She is also an activist and author of ‘What is Slavery to Me?: Postcolonial/slave Memory in Post-apartheid South Africa’, ‘A Renegade Called Simphiwe’, ‘Rape: A South African Nightmare’ and ‘Reflecting Rogue: Inside the Mind of a Feminist’.
