Los Angeles came to a standstill last night – the 87th Academy Awards were held at the prestigious Kodak Theatre. Amidst the hushed whispers surrounding Neil Patrick Harris having to match Ellen DeGeneres’s hosting skills to everyone wondering why Lady Gaga wore bright red gloves; the evening was abuzz with much excitement. With some of our favourite stars keeping us in the loop on their Instagram feeds, we’ve chosen our top five favourite pictures surrounding the Oscars.
NUMBER FIVE: REESE WITHERSPOON LOOKED AMAZING
Best Actress nominee for Jean-Marc Vallée’s Wild looked breathtaking in her Tom Ford dress which was finished off with jewels from Tiffany And Co. She gave us a peek of her ensemble just before she hit the red carpet.
NUMBER FOUR: KHLOE KARDASHIAN KO-HOSTS
The most outspoken Kardashian was asked by E! Entertainment to cover this year’s Oscars alongside some of their regulars: Giuliana Rancic, Kelly Osbourne and Ross Mathews, amongst others. True to oversharing form, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star snapped this picture of the branded microphones before going on air.
NUMBER THREE: THE BIG O REHEARSES
Oprah took some time to show us how she was preparing for announcing the Best Adapted Screenplay winner in this behind-the-scenes picture. Check out Oprah’s excitement over the movie she produced, Selma, going home with the Oscar for Best Original Song through her Instagram timeline too here.
NUMBER TWO: SEACREST GETS SOME HELP
Media maven Ryan Seacrest got the assistance of his Labrador puppy, Georgia, as he brushed up for his red carpet hosting duties. How cute do these two look?

NUMBER ONE: THE LEGENDS SNUGGLE UP WITH OSCAR
And lastly, after tons of perfect posts of PDA (Public Displays of Affection) we put our envy aside to appreciate just how happy we were for John Legend after he bagged the award for Best Original Song. The ‘All Of Me’ crooner and his model wife Chrissy Teigan were still in such high spirits after the ceremony that they even decided to sleep with his statuette.
