Eddie Clayton, Director of the Johannesburg Youth Orchestra brings in two of his members. Clarinet player Naledi Dweba had to care for and watch his parents die of AIDS, when he was 12 years old. Sent to live with his grandmother in Hillbrow afterwards, Naledi has come a long way, playing with the Joburg Youth Orchestra, and studying for a B.Mus. And Cellist Bryan Moore from St. John’s College has also had a tough life, having to carry his cello, as well as his girlfriend’s cello around, in his Golf Polo. That’s what the JYO is all about, it includes people from all walks of life. The JYO are performing at the Joburg Theatre this Saturday night, in ‘The Night of the Stars’ production.
