What do you get when you put 200 young (16-18yrs) leaders representing 54 states across the African continent together in a room? “Amazing discipline, incredible cooperative efforts, and enviable maturity”, were the words and phrases Hlubi Mboya and Gareth Armstrong used after they attended the UNECA (United Nations Economic Commission for Africa) and NEPAD (New Partnership for Africa’s Development) simulation sessions at ALAMAU. They discuss how this is possible with Faith Abiodun, Director of the International Relations Council at the African Leadership Academy, Takunda Ushe, this year’s Chairman of the ALA Model African Union programme, and Salma Khai, a student at the ALA and next year’s ALAMAU2017 Chairperson.
